About Us
Venture RDA is an independent charity proudly affiliated with the National Riding for the Disabled Association, a recognised body by families of disabled children throughout the UK. With a history spanning nearly three decades we have established a strong local partnership with specialist schools, physiotherapists, consultants, and word-of-mouth recommendations from both professionals and families.​
​At Venture RDA, we provide children and young people with disabilities the opportunity to ride, benefiting their overall health and wellbeing. Our riding sessions incorporate activities that develop skills including pony care, riding techniques, physical development, cognitive support, speech and language skills, self-esteem and confidence, and relationship building. By caring for our ponies, children learn valuable life skills such as care and empathy, allowing them to try new experiences while building physical and emotional strength. By focusing on the individual child, we empower them to find their voice and express their unique needs and perspectives, which not only allows children to be heard but also fosters a sense of autonomy and confidence.​
​​Venture RDA provides a space for families to connect with others sharing similar experiences, creating a supportive network that offers emotional strength and a sense of belonging, and offers skills to both the children and their families that can open new doors, providing opportunities for growth and development when, at times, it can feel like other doors may be closing.
