Individual Volunteering
If you have spare time on your hands and a passion for helping others, consider turning that time into something truly rewarding by volunteering with us. Volunteering with Venture RDA offers a wonderful and unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children, whilst also advancing your own personal growth.
As a volunteer with Venture RDA, you’ll take on a rewarding role that primarily involves leading a pony or walking alongside a child as a side walker, ensuring their safety, support and reassurance during their riding lesson. This hands-on involvement allows for meaningful interaction with the children as they engage in various activities whilst on their pony.
There is, however, much more that you can do to help as a volunteer; for example, for those with a stronger equine interest, there’s the chance to contribute further by grooming, tacking up and caring for our wonderful ponies. Volunteers are also required to assist in organising and facilitating activities in our riding arena, outside play area and family room, as well as get involved in our annual Family Fun Day and Christmas Party events, where we like to ensure a fun-filled day of activities, raffles and games for everyone!

"I initially joined Venture RDA to support my partner, Wendy, who was keen to get involved with the charity and its association with ponies. My expectation was that I could assist with the car park or some other less pro-active role. As it turns out, I was immediately given training so I could take on a side walking role. I really enjoy the interaction we have with the children and their ability to overcome their initial fears and reservations. It is a pleasure to watch their confidence and competence grow."
